Simple Saturday: Hello, Doily

Yeah! It’s Saturday!

I hope you all slept in and you are ready to do some crafting today!

Simple Saturday:  Hello, Doily

Simple Saturday Hello Doily with watermarkThis “Hello, Doily” card is very quick and very cute!

It takes a few minutes for the flower to dry, but if you make that first, you can be working on the rest of the card while it dries. To make the flower, punch out 3 scallop circles of each size from the Cherry Cobbler card stock.  Take a small hand punch and punch in the center of each circle, this is where the brad will go, and it’s easier to punch the hole first. Scrunch them up, spritz them with rubbing alcohol and maybe a little water. Scrunch them again, flatten them out a bit, not too much, and let them dry.

I added a few Stampin’ Dimensionals under the word hello to give the card a little movement.  Combine that with a cute flower, some brads, a doily and a little grunge. Now you have a simple card that’s easy to make, and has a little something extra going on.  Just right for a “Simple Saturday” card!

Enjoy!!!

materials list:

Whisper White card stock (#100730), Basic Black card stock (#121045), Cherry Cobbler card stock (#119685), Versa Mark Ink Pad (#102283), Stampin’ Emboss Powder, Black (#109133), Classic Stampin’ Pad, Basic Black (#126980), Gorgeous Grunge stamp set (#130517 c), Perfect Pennants stamp set (#133230 c), Banner Framelits Dies (#132173), Scallop Circle Punches 7/8″ (#129404), 1 1/4″ (#127811), Tea Lace Paper Doilies (#129399), Antique Brads (#117273), Stampin’ Dimensionals (#104430), Multipurpose Glue (#110755), Big Shot (#113439), Big Shot Magnetic Platform (#130658)

While this list may seem long for such a simple card, many of the items can be used repeatedly for other projects. Things like punches, framelits, the Big Shot, stamp pads and stamp sets are all items that can be used over and over. They are more of an investment and don’t need to be replaced often like card stock and adhesive do.  Something to think about when you want to purchase those big items.
