Inked Autumn Leaves are on display today!
I know, I know…you’re probably saying “What is she thinking?”. You don’t make a card with Autumn leaves in the middle of Summer! Well, call me crazy, but I do!
In an effort to get ahead a little bit in life (yeah, right!), I have started making some of the thank you cards I know I will need in November. Before too long I will become totally preoccupied (more like obsessed) with Christmas cards and decorations and Autumn will have passed me by. So, in order to maintain my sanity (as well as that of others) and to relieve a little bit of stress, I’m making an extra card here and there to free up some time later!
For the leaves, I used some Crushed Curry and some Cajun Craze cardstock. I used a sponge dauber to add enough color (at random) to cover the paper (Always Artichoke, Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze), then I ran it through the Big Shot using the Autumn Leaves Bigz die. They will all come out looking a little differently, so I cut out several and chose the ones I liked best (be sure to save the rest for future projects!). I put them into the Woodgrain Embossing Folder and then ran them through the Big Shot again. After they come out of the embossing folder, you can use some Early Espresso ink and a sponge dauber to add color to the ridges and along the edges.
I’m thinking this layout would work great using some Christmas ornaments or some pinecones. Hmmm…there’s an idea!
Coming Soon… a few sneak peeks from this years Holiday Catalog! Stay tuned!
Thanks for stopping by today!
