Masculine Anchor Card

Happy Saturday Stampers!

Today’s project is this great masculine anchor card…just in time for Father’s Day. There is some inking involved and a bit of fussy cutting on the anchor, but you still have plenty of time to rock this one out for Father’s Day!

For the first layer of ink, start with some Marina Mist (I use a dauber for this) and color in the ocean. Go over the first layer with some Lost Lagoon ink where you want it to appear darker, leaving some of the Marina Mist showing through.

Curl up and tear around the edges to help make it look ragged before you finish them with ink. Use some Crumb Cake to highlight the “waves” and color in any visible land masses. To get a little more contrast, get out some Early Espresso ink and distress the edges even more,  making sure you really get into those curls and tears with the ink!

Stamp the anchor (in black) on some Crumb Cake card stock, and punch out a 2″ circle. Using Crumb Cake and Early Espresso Inks, give the anchor and the circle some shading, and add a little Lost Lagoon in there to show behind the anchor.

You will need a pair of Paper Snips (these are very sharp… be careful!) to help you with fussy cutting the anchor, and don’t forget to punch a hole in the top.

To make the “rope”, cut a length of the new Thick Baker’s Twine in Very Vanilla, about ten or twelve inches (fold it in half), add some ink, slide it through the hole in the anchor and tie few knots before you adhere it with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
