Holiday Sneak Peek! Watercolor Winter Simply Created Card Kit

Happy Saturday!

I’m a little behind in my post today, having a little case of writer’s block I guess, sometimes that happens!

I went to my first Stampin’ Up! convention this year!  Woo Hoo!  I had tons of fun, and I learned lots of little tips and tricks along the way! Yeah!

While I was there, I took a class that included the new Watercolor Winter Simply Created Card Kit (say that 3 times fast). It’s one of the new and exciting items from the upcoming Holiday Catalog! There’s a ton of great stuff in here, and it’s all available to you starting August 28th!

Using the Watercolor Winter Simply Created Card Kit, we were supposed to complete one each of the four card samples included in the kit (I think).  Needless to say, I did not complete the four cards, nor did I complete even one!  There was just too much going on for this newbie to focus!  All that crafting and gabbing, not to mention gawking at all the great ideas the other stampers were coming up with. It was just too much!

During the class they announced a contest for Pinterest (I LOVE PINTEREST). Using the items from the kit, you could make your own version of the cards and pin them on the Stampin’ Up! board for people to vote on.  Well, once again, I did not focus long enough to get that card (or any card for that matter) finished or participate in the contest!  That being said, I’ve decided to share my version of the cards we were supposed to make in class here on my blog. Can you believe I have a blog, it’s still sinking in!  Who knew!  Anyway…here it is…

My Saturday Post:  Holiday Sneak Peek!

Watercolor WInter Simply Created Card Kit… *My Version #1

Holiday Sneak Peek 2014 Watercolor Winter Card Kit My VersionI tried to use only items included in the kit, for those of you that know me, that’s a real challenge for me!  I’m always trying to add more to everything!  Simple is not so simple for me!

On this card I managed to keep myself from adding too much, the star on the top of the tree is punched from the edges of the cardstock in the kit using the star punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and then I added some Dazzling Details on the torn edges of the paper to make it look a little more like snow. Everything else is already part of the kit. Not bad for someone who loves to layer the crap out of everything!

Enjoy!
