Petal Passion Paper Sneak Peek!

Petal Passion Paper Sneak Peek!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!  Let’s make 2018 a year to remember… I am excited to see what the new year will bring …how about you?

When I sent my demonstrator pre-order in on December 1st , this Petal Passion DSP (designer series paper) was at the tippy top of my wish list!!!  Then, the man in the brown truck came, and I actually got my hands on it, and WOW…I am totally hooked!

Petal Passion Sneak Peek! Fussy cut roses from DSP. Stampin' Blends. Inker's Workshop 2018

Black & white… plain or with a pop of color, is so versatile for all kinds of crafting, and this paper really delivers!  Check out pages 22/23 in the new 2018 Occasions catalog (live Jan 3rd) to see the entire Petal Passion SuiteI

Psst…here’s where my idea came from….I CASED my own card.  When I saw the stripes and roses in the new Petal Passion DSP, I immediately thought of this card, so I went in search of my old blog post. The old version uses one of my all time favorite papers from Stampin’ Up!…Timeless Elegance DSP…it has a great vintage/shabby look to it..and I still miss it! To see my original Shabby Style blog post from 2015…just click on the card.

Petal Passion Sneak Peek! Fussy cut roses. Inker's Workshop 2018

Before fussy cutting the roses from the larger sheet of paper, they were colored with Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers. First the shadows were colored with Dark Cherry Cobbler, then the entire flower was inked over with the Light Cherry Cobbler. Once that was done, the Color Lifter was used to remove ink to lighten up certain areas… the results are smooth & fabulous! With only two shades for each color, the Stampin’ Blends markers make it easy to blend colors and be your own artist!

Petal Passion Paper Sneak Peek! Fussy cut roses card with envelope. Inker's Workshop 2018

This card really makes a bold statement…don’t those roses just jump right out at you?

As a finishing touch, I created an envelope with inky goodness all over it!  You always get plenty of oohs, and ahhs when someone sees a decorated envelope!

TIP:  Don’t be afraid to use an idea more than once. Simply switch out colors or move things around in the layout to create a new look…it can be a great time saver!

Have A Fabulous Day!
