Stamp Review Crew: Window Shopping Edition!

Welcome to The Stamp Review Crew: Window Shopping Edition!

If you are new to the crew… here’s a little info…

This is an international group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators that gets together on the first and third Mondays of every month to do a blog hop. Each hop will focus on a single stamp set, giving you oodles of ideas and inspiration for that set!

No matter where you join in, just follow along until you’ve seen all the blogs. If you get lost along the way you can always click on the banner above to see the master list for this hop and catch up there!

Now. on to today’s projects…

Stamp Review Crew: Window Shopping Edition. Inker's Workshop 2017

Thinking of you….I chose to focus on a single greeting for this card, and I heat embossed it on black card stock to  make it really “POP” against that colorful background!.

Stamp Review Crew: Window Shopping Edition. Watercolor background. Inker's Workshop 2017

The background is a mix of Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo and a touch of Cajun Craze ink …on watercolor paper. I gave the paper a light spray of water (Spritzer), and then used my Aqua Painter to add ink from the top of my ink pad. Once it was dry, I flicked water on it to create more movement, and I added just a touch of black splatter to pull it together with the greeting.

The leaves are cut from the Just Add Color Specialty Designer Series Paper (Annual Catalog), if you don’t mind a little fussy cutting, this DSP is just loaded with options!  Lemon Lime Twist and Old Olive markers were used for coloring, with a light touch of the Aqua Painter at the end to try and blend in those rough spots.

Stamp Review Crew: Window Shopping Edition. Candles & black plaid. Inker's Workshop 2017

My second project today…

I really struggled with the idea of sharing this, the photo did not come out very well. It has a lot of glare, and you really can’t tell there is gold Foil Sheeting behind those candles! Try as I might, I could not get a good photograph of it, and the picture does not really do this card justice. That being said, this is a place about sharing ideas, not how perfect my photo is, right?  So, let’s just go with it and share…maybe it will spark and idea or two!

I used some fun plaid paper from the new Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper (available Sept.1st in the new Holiday Catalog)…I’m loving this plaid, and I had to use it the minute I got it in my pre-order…Christmas card or not! The candles are cut using the coordinating Window Box Thinlits, and backed with a piece of Gold Foil Sheet. Torn paper, black splatter and gold embossing make up the background layers, with a few sequins to finish it off.

Did you notice?  I am seeing this type of buffalo plaid all over Pinterest in home decorating!  Once again, Stampin’ Up! is right on trend with it’s design choices…way to go SU!
