Batch Of Butterflies!

Good Morning Inker’s!

For this Batch Of Butterflies, I decided to try a new trick for
an old technique…

FYI… I’m not quite sure this is the correct name for this technique,
I see it is called by several names on Pinterest, but for today we’re
going with faux Letter Press Technique.

Normally for this ink technique, you would use an embossing folder,
a brayer, your ink and a Big Shot…but for today’s card, I replaced
the brayer with an ink pad and a spritzer…because I like it messy!

watercolor (say whaaat??).  All of the spaces are not filled in, which
adds to the distressed look of the card. If you’re looking for a more
solid color, try using an Aqua Painter to fill in color or use a brayer
for more coverage.

To get this kind of look, open up your embossing folder and ink up the
“flat” side of the folder, putting the ink pad directly on the embossing
folder…spritz it with a little water. Carefully place your card stock inside
the embossing folder and run it through your Big Shot.

When you take it out, (watch for inky fingers) the butterflies will be white
(if you use white paper), and the background will be the color of ink you
chose to use. You can leave the butterflies white, or ink them up, like I
did here… using a Sponge Dauber and some Crumb Cake ink with a bit
of Early Espresso to top it off.

TIP: you will get two different looks depending on which side of
the embossing folder you ink up!

Don’t forget to add a little sumthin’ to the envelope!

The flap of the envelope is embossed and rubbed with ink
using a light touch and a Sponge Dauber.
