Good Morning Inkers…
Mother’s Day is right around the corner!
I’m sending out a card for mom today…how about you?
There are two things my mom loves…people and food.
She will chat up anyone who comes along, and if there’s food involved…
all the better. So, this year for Mother’s Day, it’s a gift card to her favorite
restaurant, that way she can chat with the waitress, or whoever, and eat
her favorite pasta at the same time.
A gift card may sound kind of cheesy, like I’m taking the easy way out,
but my mother will be very excited to receive this, she’s in her 80’s and
would much rather be out and about seeing people than sitting at home
in front of the television.
I used an Aqua Painter to help give these flowers a little dimension.
Take the ink pad of your choice (Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive used here),
and with your hand, squeeze the top of the pad down a few times, this leaves
a small amount of ink on the inside of the lid to use as your palette. By doing
this, you can control the amount of ink you use much better than tapping the
pen directly onto the ink pad. Neat trick, huh?
A nice personal touch for your card is to stamp on the inside.
For this card, the flowers are repeated both on the inside, and on
the outside flap of the envelope… sweet!
This year on Mother’s Day, send out a card for mom…
but take a minute to stop and think about HER, what simple
thing can you do to make her day?
Would flowers make her smile…
or taking her out to lunch…
just spending time with her?
For my mom it’s people and food…whatever it is for your mom,
no matter how simple, do it…she will love you for it!
Thanks for visiting…
