Are you new to stamping and totally overwhelmed?
If you are, here’s the perfect way to get started!
I don’t know where the original idea came from, but for today I’m
calling this version the Super Simple Six!
For these easy peasy cards, it’s all about the paper!
Get six card fronts from one 12 x 12 sheet of paper!
After a conversation with a friend of mine, I decided to revisit this fast and fabulous card
making idea! I had previously shared it with her while visiting, and it was a perfect match
for her busy schedule. Now, she wants to share it with someone who is new to rubber
stamping and is totally overwhelmed by it all…sound familiar?
Let’s get started…
- Choose some pretty 12 x 12 paper…make it something that will be visually appealing when cut into sections. For this card I used English Garden DSP.
- Trim 1 1/2″ from the top or bottom (not the sides) of the 12 x 12 sheet of paper.
- Cut the sheet length wise (vertical) into 3 equal pieces, in this case, 4″.
- Cut those 3 pieces in half (horizontally) to create card fronts that will measure 4″ x 5 1/4″
That’s the basic idea… it really is that easy!
You could just layer the paper directly to the card base, but if you add ribbon etc,
you might want to tie that on before you layer it using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add
a simple greeting by stamping it onto another piece of paper and glue it down if
you’re not comfortable stamping directly onto the pretty paper.
Notice a difference?
The card on the right is what you will get using the measurements above.
Oops! They’re supposed to be the other way around…oh, well.
For a larger boarder on your card front (like the one on the left), trim off
2″ from the top or bottom of your 12 x 12 paper, and cut the 3 vertical pieces into
3 3/4″ strips and then in half. You will be left with card fronts measuring 3 3/4″ x 5″.
The perfect size to show a little bit more color from the card base.
When you’re done, you will have your own Super Simple Six to share!
Thanks for visiting today…
