PPA291-Pals Color Challenge 2016 Inker's Workshop

The Bold Butterfly Framelits were used to make the cut out layered over
the watercolor piece. Layering the cut out on top allows you to move it
around, finding the best way to show off the ink.

Here’s a quick way to get the look of watercolor using a clear block:

If you’re new to this, I recommend using watercolor paper and a marker
to start with…then you can go on and experiment with an ink pad.

1) Color a little more than one third of the block with the lightest ink color. In this case, Pool Party was used first.

2) Use the second color (Cucumber Crush) to ink the middle of the block, overlapping the colors slightly, and coming down enough so the third color will overlap.

3) Color the remainder of the block with the last color (Watermelon Wonder), it should overlap the second color a little.

4) Lightly spritz the block with water, letting the colors blend slightly.  Press the block down onto the paper and keep it there, letting the ink sink into the paper.  If you don’t wait for the ink to settle in, when you pull up the block, it may be dry and won’t look like watercolor.

Don’t be intimidated, give it a try.

Happy Stamping!
