Layers Of Scrap

Good Morning Stampers!

Got scraps?

Making cards from bits and pieces left in the scrap pile is one of my favorite things to do!

Layers Of Scrap

Using layers of scrap to make your cards can whittle down what’s in the pile in a hurry, leaving room for more new scraps and more new ways to create with them!

This card started out with a partially torn manila office tag, which is why I used the cut out shape to keep everything looking neat and tidy! A piece of Typeset DSP starts off the layering on the tag, with a bit of distressing added using some Early Espresso Ink. Half a Tea Lace Paper Doily is added, along with a butterfly cut from the Beautiful Wings Embosslits, (which is colored with some Daffodil Delight ink and edged with the Early Espresso).  A greeting (thinking of you) from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set is stamped and punched out with the Word Window Punch. Rhinestone Basic Jewels are added for a finishing touch on the butterfly and the the greeting. That finishes up the tag, now it’s layered in the center of a piece of Crumb Cake card stock, and that whole piece is layered onto a Very Vanilla card base. Another piece of Very Vanilla has a shape cut out of the center using the Apothecary Accents Framelits, and that becomes the final layer which is added on top using some Stampin’ Dimensionals to give the whole thing a little lift.

FYI: A few of the items used for this card are on the retiring list this time!  The Beautiful Wings Embosslits, and the Apothecary Accents Framelits will be retiring when the new Annual Catalog goes into effect on June 2nd…boohoo.  These and many more retiring items will only be available while supplies last…so get what you want ASAP!  To view the entire list of what’s going away, click here.
