Card Stock Swatch

Good Morning Stampers!

Wouldn’t it be great to know at a glance what color of card stock to use for your projects?

Well, you can..with a ring full of samples at your fingertips!

Paper Swatches For CustomerMake your own swatch ring by cutting a sheet of card stock (one for each color) in half (5 1/2″). Take one half of the the sheet, score it at 4 1/4″ and fold it to use for a card base. Cut the remaining half into two pieces, use one piece for your swatch ring, and use the rest of the card stock for another project. Punch a hole in the upper left corner of each sample, and don’t forget to turn it over and label the back with the color and item number so you know what it is at a glance. You might think this is a big chunk of paper to use for a sample, but it’s the perfect size to help you judge the real color of the card stock, and it’s large enough to slide in behind your artwork to help you mix and match your colors. After you cut, punch and label all of your samples, load them onto a binder ring and enjoy hands on, easy access to all of your card stock colors!

Take this idea and make samples of all your punches, and your embossing folders…just use the pieces of card stock left over from the color swatch for your samples

Once you have samples of all your punches onto a binder ring, you can simply hold them over a stamped greeting and know in an instant if the words will fit…what a time saver!

Consider getting a card stock sample pack for each color collection. Each sample pack has 20 sheets, 2 each of the 10 colors. This would give you one sheet to cut up and one extra for a project, without having to buy an entire packet of each color. This would allow you to have a sample of each color without breaking the bank!

  1. Thank you, Rae! It started out as a little something for one of my customers…then I decided to just share it with everyone else out there. Having a sample of each color can really come in handy!
