Do you have stamps sitting on the shelf waiting to be used? If you do, take heart… that’s how today’s card came to be!
Stamp Of The Month: Butterfly Basics #3
I have a lot of wooden stamps in my craft studio, they sit on some shelving my husband built for me almost 20 years ago out of furring strips from the lumber store. There are some very old stamps mixed in with some newer ones that sit on the shelf right above my work table (it’s actually a large tool box on wheels), and sometimes I forget to use them even though they are right in front of my face!
The Post Card background stamp has been on my shelf, rarely used since I bought it. Even though I just had to have this background stamp, I have barely touched it except to look at it once in a while (I think I’ve used it twice?) and wonder what to do with it, or at the very least…dust it off (yeah…right!).
Sometimes mixing the old with the new can have great results! When I took the Post Card stamp (the old) off the shelf this time, everything just fell into place! The Butterflies Thinlits, and the flowers/greeting from the Butterfly Basics stamp set (the new), fit perfectly on the Post Card background…it’s like they were made for each other. Yippee! Score! The butterfly still needed a little something, so I added some of the pearls from the Artisan Embellishment kit for a final touch… boy, I really like that large pearl!
I’m super jazzed (do people say that anymore?) with my mix & match results! An old favorite was brought back to life by a new favorite…who knew?
Thanks for visiting…have a fabulous day!
