Mixed Blessings: Tangelo Rose

It’s Monday Morning!

Happy Labor Day!  Maybe you’ll get breakfast in bed today…wouldn’t that be nice!  While most of us won’t have the luxury of breakfast in bed, we can all take more time in the morning to do some things we enjoy.  A little more time over coffee, or a little extra sleep comes to mind.  Maybe even a little bit of paper & ink (therapy) is what you need!.

Check out today’s project for a little inspiration…

Today’s card is a mix of both old and new. The leaf is from a pile of leftover die cuts I made about a month or so ago, the little thanks banner is a piece originally cut out for something else and the background piece with the “dots” on it is a scrap of Whisper White that I inked up using a piece of bubble wrap!  The new is the Tangelo “rose”. It’s made with a Jumbo Sticky Round that I cut down to a 2″ circle and some Tangelo Twist ribbon. To add a finishing touch, I colored up a pearl with some Pumpkin Pie Blendabilites to use in the center of the flower. Ooh My!

Tangelo Rose

Orange Rose Orange Rose DetailsTangelo Twist is one of the new in-colors that I just couldn’t wrap my head around!  I wasn’t sure where it fit in. I already made friends with the other in-colors and have grown to love them, but this one just took a little longer. Since I really love the Pumpkin Pie cardstock Stampin’ Up! already carries, I had to really challenge myself to use this one!

Winner, Winner, Chicken Dinner!  This card came out great!  I love it!  I will have to challenge myself more often!  Now I can buy the whole pack of paper because I will actually use it!
