Today’s first project is one way to share a small coffee treat with someone special!
******************

Stamp Review Crew: Merry Cafe' Inker's Workshop 2017 Coffee pillow box

I can’t believe that Fall is only a few days away!  The time seems to go by faster every year!  All the more reason to enjoy each day…don’t you think?  One of my favorite ways to start the day is with a hot cup of coffee, no matter the weather, I head straight for the coffee pot each morning. I wasn’t always a coffee lover, and if you asked me to drink it black, well, that’s just not happening! I was a life long tea drinker, until I found those flavored coffee creamers at the market! I have food allergies, and struggle finding pre-made items that I can have. So, after reading the labels and finding I could have a certain brand, I decided that I would try one out…thinking it could be some sort of sweet treat since I had to give up some of my favorites (like OREOS & milk…sniff). One cup was all it took… and I am hooked!  Now, I start each day with a sweet treat in my coffee cup!

Inside this cute little pillow box package you will find coffee, sugar, stir sticks etc.  I could not, however, fit in the creamer…the best part!  That will have to come in a separate package…hmm, maybe I should make a coffee bundle. If you do happen to know someone who likes their coffee black, this would be the perfect little gift to help them PERK UP!
*************

Stamp Review Crew: Merry Cafe' Inker's Workshop 2017 perk up

I just love that little coffee cup with the steam rising from it. It’s the perfect size for a small space, and works great on this belly band!

Stamp Review Crew: Merry Cafe' Inker's Workshop 2017 cut pillow box.

The little pillow box that holds the treats is from the Trim Your Stocking Thinlits Dies, also in the Holiday Catalog. To get this look, cut one side of the top end off along the embossed curve, leaving the opposite side standing up, creating the open box to fill.

Next…

It’s pumpkin spice latte season!

Stamp Review Crew: Merry Cafe' Inker's Workshop Hello Fall pumpkin cup

Are you one of those people who are saying “enough with the pumpkin stuff already”?
Not me!  I am the one who can’t get enough of the pumpkin flavored creamer that’s about to hit the stores…I’m ready!  Anybody else?  I stamped the cup full of pumpkins..because you know, I love pumpkin!  I also sneaked in those Vellum snowflakes in the background.  They were cut outs left over from another project, and while they are not really for Fall, I liked them, so I used them…waste not, want not!  Oh,such a rule breaker…haha!

Just a closer look at those cutie patootie pumpkins!

Update…I just saw a commercial for the newest flavor, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup!!! I can’t wait to get my hands on some of that….so excited…it’s the little things…lol!

Cute 3 X 3 Quilt Cards In A Pizza Box!

Hey everyone…it’s launch day!
The new Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog goes live today!

There’s fifty-five pages of stamping goodness inside, and trying to decide what to share with you today was no easy task!  So, I combined several of my new favorites from the catty, and came up with these super Cute 3 X 3 Quilt Cards In A Pizza Box!
*******************

Cute 3 X 3 Quilt Cards In A Pizza Box! Inkers' Workshop 2017. belly band off open box

I combined the black & white plaid from the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper (love this paper, wish I could get an entire pack of it!) with the Quilt Builder Framelits Dies to make this adorable set of cards!  The plaid paper also makes up the belly band and covers the back flap of our new 3 X 3 envelopes…more cute factor!!!
********************

Cute 3 X 3 Quilt Cards In A Pizza Box! card/envelope********************
There’s six Cute 3 X 3 Quilt Cards with matching envelopes inside the pizza box. The box will hold more than that if they were flat,  but these have a bit of dimension with the snowflake and rhinestone, so I stuck with six. The snowflake is cut from Vellum using the new Trim Your Stocking Thinlits Dies, it took on a blue tone here. but it’s quite sheer & lovely in person!
****************

Cute 3X 3 Quilt Cards In A Pizza Box! Inker's Workshop 2017 pizza box/ belly band/ribbon

How stinkin’ cute is this pizza box?!  I just love it…squeeee!!!!  The belly band may help keep things inside the box, but the finishing touch is that awesome wired ribbon…another item from the Merry Little Christmas Suite!

Notice anything?  I forgot to make a gift tag…can you believe that!  I think that pizza box distracted me….LOL!  Certainly, it’s not the end of the world, but I wish one would have made it into the photo…darn!!

Stamp Review Crew: Window Shopping Edition!

Welcome to The Stamp Review Crew: Window Shopping Edition!

If you are new to the crew… here’s a little info…

This is an international group of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators that gets together on the first and third Mondays of every month to do a blog hop. Each hop will focus on a single stamp set, giving you oodles of ideas and inspiration for that set!

No matter where you join in, just follow along until you’ve seen all the blogs. If you get lost along the way you can always click on the banner above to see the master list for this hop and catch up there!

Now. on to today’s projects…

Stamp Review Crew: Window Shopping Edition. Inker's Workshop 2017

Thinking of you….I chose to focus on a single greeting for this card, and I heat embossed it on black card stock to  make it really “POP” against that colorful background!.
************************

Stamp Review Crew: Window Shopping Edition. Watercolor background. Inker's Workshop 2017

The background is a mix of Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo and a touch of Cajun Craze ink …on watercolor paper. I gave the paper a light spray of water (Spritzer), and then used my Aqua Painter to add ink from the top of my ink pad. Once it was dry, I flicked water on it to create more movement, and I added just a touch of black splatter to pull it together with the greeting.

The leaves are cut from the Just Add Color Specialty Designer Series Paper (Annual Catalog), if you don’t mind a little fussy cutting, this DSP is just loaded with options!  Lemon Lime Twist and Old Olive markers were used for coloring, with a light touch of the Aqua Painter at the end to try and blend in those rough spots.

NEXT…

Stamp Review Crew: Window Shopping Edition. Candles & black plaid. Inker's Workshop 2017

My second project today…

I really struggled with the idea of sharing this, the photo did not come out very well. It has a lot of glare, and you really can’t tell there is gold Foil Sheeting behind those candles! Try as I might, I could not get a good photograph of it, and the picture does not really do this card justice. That being said, this is a place about sharing ideas, not how perfect my photo is, right?  So, let’s just go with it and share…maybe it will spark and idea or two!
************************

Stamp Review Crew: Window Shopping Edition. side view, Inker's Workshop 2017
I used some fun plaid paper from the new Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper (available Sept.1st in the new Holiday Catalog)…I’m loving this plaid, and I had to use it the minute I got it in my pre-order…Christmas card or not! The candles are cut using the coordinating Window Box Thinlits, and backed with a piece of Gold Foil Sheet. Torn paper, black splatter and gold embossing make up the background layers, with a few sequins to finish it off.

Did you notice?  I am seeing this type of buffalo plaid all over Pinterest in home decorating!  Once again, Stampin’ Up! is right on trend with it’s design choices…way to go SU!

Enjoy!

Brick & Beer Retirement Card!

Welcome to the August 2017 Pals Blog Hop. Thank you so much for joining us today. This month we’re going to “Cut It Out”. Participants will feature projects with “cuts” from punches, dies, Framelits, Edgelits, or Thinlits.

Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.
***************************

Brick & Beer Retirement Card! Inker's Workshop. with matching envelope

Most of us look forward to the day we no longer have the daily grind of a 9-5 job!  Retirement is one of the biggest milestones in our life, and it’s cause for a bit of celebration!  This Brick & Beer Retirement Card would be perfect for the new retiree who loves ’em some suds, don’t you think?
********************************

Brick & Ber Retirement Card! Inker's Workshop 2017

I don’t drink beer, but I love those little pubs and coffee shops that have all the exposed brick on the walls and the industrial lighting… I could spend hours in those places!  That’s what this card reminds me of…comfortable surroundings and being with good friends, something we all look forward to doing more of once we retire!
**************************************

Brick & Beer Retirement Card! Inker's Workshop 2017 Beer Mug

How adorable is this little mug!!  It’s stamped on Crushed Curry card stock in Black Archival ink. After fussy cutting the mug, I colored in the handle and edges with a Crumb Cake marker, and added more ink with a Sponge Dauber to make the beer appear darker at the bottom. A Basic Black marker was used around all the edges to help define the shape. I stamped another mug on Whisper White, and cut out the “foam” by hand (also colored with Crumb Cake) and then layered it on top with some Stampin’ Dimensionals.  HINT: If you slightly off set the white foam, it will add more dimension. When finished, the mug was layered onto a circle cut from the Stitched Shapes Framelits…I think those little stitches add so much detail to any project!
*******************************

********************************
See that greeting?  It’s made using the Classic Label Punch.  Stamp, emboss and punch out your greeting.  Punch out a second label, cut it in half down the center (vertically) and glue it to the back side of the first label, extending the ends out past the original to get this layered look!  HINT: if you use Multipurpose Liquid Glue here, you can move it around to get perfect placement.

That brick background is a happy accident!!  It’s dry embossed with the Brick Wall embossing folder on Whisper White Thick card stock. I tried to experiment and rub Black Archival Ink all over it so the “grout” would stand out (I do this all the time, but have never used the Black Archival Ink)…what a mess I had, ink all over me and big circles on the brick where the dauber landed, not such a good look.  So,I spritzed it…gasp!  This is not what archival ink is meant for….this must be what living life on the edge feels like…lol!

We’ve been told over and over that the Whisper White card stock will pill and not hold up to water, and it’s true, I’ve had it happen. However, with this experiment, I broke the rules and it worked!  Remember, the bricks were already embossed on the Thick Whisper White, so I made sure not to soak the paper, and I did not rub it at all. I lightly sprayed it, holding it away from the main force of the water, and I got a great result! It smoothed out those weird circles and there are some pretty green and purple hues of color seeping out from the black ink. I laid it upside down and put an ink pad on top to keep it flat, and when it was dry… it looked great!  I roughed up the edges, tore down one side and then inked the edges in black and Crumb Cake. It’s layered onto some black card stock (with torn edges) and more ink splats were added to finish it off. It’s fun to experiment, don’t you think?  You never know what will happen!

Love me some ink!

Have A Fabulous Day!

Dirty Daisy Gift Card Holder for TTTC007

Hello Stampers,  I found another challenge to join in on today…the Tic Tac Toe Challenge!  You choose a row from the board (horizontal, vertical or diagonal) and use those items to make your project.  How fun is that!
***************************

Dirty Daisy Gift Card Holder! #tttc007 Inker's Workshop 2017

For my Dirty Daisy Gift Card Holder, I chose the vertical row on the right…it includes diecut, floral and yellow…. I immediately thought of the Delightful Daisy Suite!  The Designer Series Paper is perfect for a gift bag, and the new Daisy Punch is hot, hot, hot!  Stampin’ Up! can hardly keep up with the demand it’s so popular! Right now it’s not even available to order, but not to worry, if you haven’t already gotten yours (and you just can’t stand the idea of being left out), they should be available again to order by July 31st…so keep your eyes peeled if you want one, and be sure to get it!
**********************************************

Tic Tac Toe Challenge Board 007

Here’s a look at the entire board for this challenge, #tttc007…which row would you choose?
***************************

Dirty Daisy Gift Card Holder! Close up. #tttc007 Inker's Workshop 2017

Up close you can see there are several layers here…you can also see where I got the name Dirty Daisy…sometimes the ink gets away from you…but, just roll with it!
***************************

Dirty Daisy Gift Card Holder! Inside. Inker's Workshop 2017

Simply pull out the card inside the bag to reveal the gift card!  You can temporarily adhere the gift card to the card stock using Snail, just remember not to put the adhesive on the magnetic strip…lol!  I did not quite finish the inside here, I wanted to write a few personal notes, so I left that for after the photo shoot.  I will add some stamping and do my writing before sending it off. Wish I could have found a gift card with these colors… or even a daisy on it…that would have been great!
************************

Dirty Daisy Gift Card Holder! doily wrapped around to back. #tttc007 Inker's Workshop 2017

Back of the bag detail….the doily is wrapped front to back instead of cutting it off even with the front edge…leaving a nice smooth edge.
*****************

Dirty Daisy details:

  • Cut out and assemble the gift bag using Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper and the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits.
  • For the inside card, cut a piece of Daffodil Delight card stock measuring 3 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ . Use the scallop from the Seasonal Layers Thinlets to create the curvy top and then punch out a circle in the middle of each scallop using a hand punch.
  • Wrap a Delicate White Doily from front to back.
  • Add swirls cut from the Swirly Scribbles Thinlets (mine are from my stash), and layer them on over the doily. This is the perfect example of why you need a stash!
  • Add a piece of white 3/8″ classic Weave Ribbon, tied in a knot.
  • The greeting is from the Graceful Garden set and it’s cut out with the tag from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits.
  • use the Daisy Punch to cut out 2 daisies, (both white, ink one up with Daffodil Delight), layer the two together (after they are distressed) with a Stampin’ Dimensional and top with a Faceted Gem;
  • The bag, card, swirls, greeting tag, and daisies have a lot of inked edges (Crumb Cake) I use a Sponge Dauber, but a sponge will work just as well.  Distress your edges etc, while you are working, if you wait and try to ink the finished project, it will not be fun!

I hope you enjoyed today’s project….want to choose a row in the next challenge?  Head on over to www.tictactoechallenge.com and get all the details!

Single Red Rose For GDP096

Here’s a  Single Red Rose For GDP096!   Many of you know I love to play along when there’s a challenge…I think it helps exercise my stamping muscles and gives my mojo a lift!  How many of you love a challenge?

Single Red Rose For #GDP096 Inker's Workshop 2017This week’s challenge is to CASE (copy and selectively edit) the designer Tanja Kolar..a talented member of the Global Design Team !  I love the simple design of her card and was excited to make my own version.  I have a love / hate relationship with clean and simple projects, I tend to want to add ink…and then more ink to the many layers of my projects…yep, guilty as charged! Maybe I should join Inker’s Anonymous?…Nope!  While I will never be totally cured (off the ink),  I have become better at crafting the simple style after repeatedly going out of my comfort zone to prove to myself that I CAN do it…and I am so much better off for it!

#GDP096 case the designer Tanja Kolar

I decided on using the Graceful Garden stamp set as the focal point on my version of Tanja’s beautiful card.  Upon seeing this wonderful stamp set, I had visions of a vintage style card, with ribbon and ink in all of it’s rustic glory… but now, instead, I thought I would put my brain to work and figure out a way to use it for this challenge!

So…for my card, I switched out the colors for something more bold…I did use the Stitched Shape Framelits, but made the larger square black. I don’t have a 3D element, I stamped the rose design directly on the top square instead, and colored it with markers and Watercolor Pencils.  I also added a larger background design behind the squares… mostly because I wanted to use the trellis type stamp from the set (I love anything that looks like grid work) I did, however, add some ink splatter…I couldn’t help myself…I love ink!

Single Red Rose For GDP096. Inker's Workshop 2017 angle view

If you look very closely at the angle view, you can see the tiny bits of twinkle from the Shimmery Paper I used on the project!  It’s a very subtle shimmer, but a very pretty detail when seen in person!

Single Red Rose For GDP096 matching envelope. Inker's Workshop 2017

Adding a coordinating envelope in plain black and white is the perfect finishing touch for this project!

Want more inspiration? Make sure you head on over the Global Design Project to see all the wonderful projects from this week’s challenge!

Have A Fabulous Day!

Eastern Beauty Thank You Card!

Hey everyone!  I am happy to be back in my crafting studio after an extended absence…most of which was never intended!  Now, I will be spending a lot of time playing catch up in an effort to make up to all of you!  To start getting back in the groove of things…here’s a fun, bold Eastern Beauty Thank You Card!

Eastern Beauty Thank You Card! Lemon Lime Twist & Tranquil Tide watercolor with stickers. Inker's Workshop 2017

While most of us do not consider ourselves an artist in terms of being able to draw or paint (enter stamping), we can be artistic with faux watercolor and other techniques that are easy to learn!

Take a look at today’s background, it’s just two colors and some water!  Starting with the lightest color…Lemon Lime Twist and an Aqua Painter, you can add a layer of color. Let that layer dry and add a second color (Tranquil Tide here), or while the paper is still a little wet add the second color and allow them to run together, creating a third color…that’s what’s done here.  It takes a little practice to learn how much water to use, but after that, it’s all inky fun!

Eastern Beauty Thank You Card! close up of stickers from the Eastern Palace Suite. Inker's Workshop 2017

Thanks to some fantastic stickers from the Eastern Palace Suite (I am bonkers over these!), this card comes together very quickly once the watercolor background is dry!  The greeting is heat embossed in gold and punched out using the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch. For the larger stickers, use the Layering Circles Framelits to cut out a circle that will leave a slight edge around the sticker, I cut the circle first and then layered on the stickers, I found that easier some how. In the very middle of the “flower” is a small sunburst sticker…that is added to card stock and punched out with the 1/2″ circle punch with a rhinestone on top. Line up where you want your circles to be placed and make a little edge mark, then using that mark, place the remaining stickers directly onto the background so they peek out from behind the larger stickers. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals (which also come in mini size now!) to pop up the sunburst and the other two circles…add more bling with sequins and extra rhinestones…easy peasy!

For an even easier version of this card …try using some Designer Series Paper for the background, then  make them in assembly line fashion and have a nice stash of thank you cards at the ready!

FYI….OOPS!  the sequins on this card are from the old catalog!  I had a few stragglers and I forgot to switch them out with the new Metallic Sequin Assortment…this new assortment has a choice of three sizes and comes in five colors, Yay!

Have A Fabulous Day!

Vintage Style Floral Statement Card

Hey everyone! This card is pretty much a CASE from the new catalog.
I REALLY liked the sample on page 164, what can I say… it spoke to me 🙂

Stampin' Up! Vintage Style Floral Statement Card. Inker's Workshop 2017

I don’t CASE very many projects, I love to create my own, but this looked like the perfect mix
between simple and vintage, and I couldn’t resist!  To add a more vintage look, the Sheet Music
is stamped on Crumb Cake and the edges are distressed with ink, creating a time worn look.

Handmade Stampin' Up! Vintage Style Floral Statement Card. angle view. Inker's Workshop 2017

The roses are colored with a Flirtly Flamingo marker (In Color), but they almost
look reddish because of the card stock underneath. If you look closely you can
see they sparkle…Wink Of Stella adds a little glitter.

Now, for that ribbon….oh, do I love that ribbon…it really does shimmer!
It comes in four colors, but the shimmer is much more visible on the black ribbon,
it’s a great touch for this vintage card and it ties in perfectly with the bit of sparkle
on the roses!

I normally purchase items I can get multiple uses out of, so I am going to have to
give it some thought and tinker a bit in my studio to see what I can come up with…
I feel the need to use it more than once…what would you make?  Share your ideas
with me via email…and I will make something using an idea I get from one of you!

Thanks A Latte!

Thanks A Latte…it’s a greeting that has been around the block for sure, but for some
strange reason, people haven’t grown tired of hearing it. It may be a bit corny, but it
can still bring a smile to someone’s face, or a at least a grin :).

Stampin' Up! Coffee Cafe Card. Marble background with copper embossed lid and greeting. Inker's Workshop 2017

I’ve never thought of coffee beans as being cute before, but they are so cute on that coffee cup!

When I saw the new Marbled background stamp, I had the idea of using it behind an anchor to look like the swirling sea (as did everyone) who knew it could look like the creamer in my coffee?

I love it when a stamp can surprise you !
*****************************

Thanks A Latte! Stampin' Up! Coffee Cafe Bundle. Detail copper , Inker's Workshop 2017

The whole card is done in Crumb Cake and Early Espresso ink, topped off with
copper embossing and a touch of the Copper Foil.

I used the Coffee Cups Framelits Dies to cut out a copper lid, but it was too much
copper…so I covered it over with another piece that was cut out and embossed to
look distressed.  The original copper lid peeks out from underneath, and a thinly cut
strip of copper runs down the center of the lid, pulling it all together to work with the
copper embossed greeting,

Wow… can I say copper more?  I even took a few out,  Lol!
*****************

Thanks A Latte! Stampin' Up! Coffee Cafe Bundle. Side view. Inker's Workshop 2017

One of the great details from the Coffee Cups Framelits Dies are those ridges
on the band that goes around the cup of the coffee.

Brain Fart!
Will someone please tell me what they call the band that wraps around the
cup to keep you from burning your hand?

Anyway, loving this bundle, so many more possibilities than I imagined…
looking forward to lots more of this coffee stuff!

Have A Fabulous Day!

The Stamp Review Crew: Labeler Alphabet

The Stamp Review Crew: Labeler Alphabet

Welcome to the Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop!  Today’s hop features the Labeler Alphabet stamp set. Using an alphabet stamp set by itself can be a challenge, so they are often used in combination with other stamps, like my project today.

****************************

The Stamp Review Crew: Labeler Alphabet Stampin' Up!. Black daisy with Berry Burst watercolor. Inker's Workshop 2017******************
I sort of went for the “bold is better” concept here, or at least that’s where it ended up! To get that strong color for the background, I used the new In Color ,Berry Burst, and it really makes those letters POP!

To get a similar look, use an Aqua painter to swoosh a small amount of water onto a piece of Shimmery White card stock. Grab some ink from the lid of your ink pad, and add your color of choice. Remember, the more ink you use, the deeper the color and the more water you use, the softer the color.  If you need to…let the first layer dry, and add more ink or water to get the look you’re after. I think the hardest part is learning to control the amount of water you use…so, it’s practice, practice, practice!
*************

Labeler Alphabet With Black Daisy. Stamp Review Crew Hop June 2017. Inker's Workshop 2017

I actually made two samples of the same card today. This was the first version, but I felt that the black daisy took center stage, and I wanted those letters to really stand out, this hop is about the Labeler Alphabet…right!  So, I figured adding some color behind them would do the trick…and  whoa, did it ever!

Also, in the background is the ink blot from the Happy Celebrations set…stamped in black, and the splatter from the Timeless Textures stamp set, heat embossed in gold. When I started, I thought the black daisy would be strong enough to show up against the black ink blot, but they sort of blend together, so the gold splatter and the metallic thread help define the two.

*********************

Stamp Review Crew: Labeler Alphabet detail black daisy. Inker's Workshop 2017

It’s hard to capture the glimmer of the new Faceted Gems, but they are fantastic…what a fun way to add bling to your project!  You can find these cuties on page 197 of the new Annual Catalog.
******************************

Stamped Labeler Alphabet. Inker's Workshop 2017.

Does using the Labeler Alphabet make you uneasy?   Here’s a little tip that may help you…rather than stamping the letters individually, ink/stamp the entire sheet of the Labeler Alphabet all at once! That’s right, the entire thing!  By doing this, you can cut them apart (or use a small punch) to make your words…which also makes twisting and turning your letters a breeze.  It might not work for every project, but it may make a few of them easier!  Be sure to ink up your alphabet better than I did. LOL!

Enjoy!
Karen

There is so much talent here, and I am so very excited that I have been invited to join this amazing group of artists!

Colorful Seasons Distressed Leaf Card. Stamp Review Crew hop. Inker's Workshop 2017

**************************
I am so easily sidetracked!  Sometimes when I have an idea for a project, I get distracted along the way and I never end up where I intended to go in the first place! Sound familiar to any of you?

Such is the case with today’s project, my plan was a nice clean card, but once I stamped the leaf and it came out, shall we say… less than perfect , it became all about the distressed look!  Maybe
my subconscious led the way, I have been wanting to play with the cardboard box from my last order!

Since I didn’t get a good solid image of my leaf, out came the Seasonal Layers Thinlits and the Gold Foil Sheets. I cut and layered a gold leaf over the top of the offending image and ta dah, I’m off in a different direction!

Colorful Seasons Distressed Leaf Card. Stamp Review Crew hop. detail leaf and gesso. Inker's Workshop 2017

I tore off the flap of the Stampin’ Up! box and cut a square larger than the leaf so I could tear the edges. I was just going to use white ink on the front, but I had some old gesso begging to be used up, so I went with that, and I just used my fingers to spread it around (messy, but fun!) I am happy to say that Stampin’ Up! has some Embossing Paste available in the new Annual Catalog, I can’t wait to get my hands on that! It should be thicker than the gesso, which means better coverage and great for stenciling!  I used a Sponge Dauber to ink the edges in Crumb Cake and Early Espresso, then wrapped Metallic Thread around the cardboard before layering it onto a small piece of Gold Foil, and of course, I topped it off with a sparkly little rhinestone!

Psst…the ink splatter you see in the background is from the Timeless Textures stamp set, I couldn’t help myself, it was the perfect finishing touch!

Thanks for hopping today!  The next stop is Rochelle Blok, I can’t wait to see what she has to share!

Berry Burst Watercolor & New Annual Catalog!

Penned In Lemon Lime!

Hey Inker’s…I can’t seem to get enough of this color right now! Lemon Lime Twist is one of five new In Colors coming out on June 1st, and if you like colors that make your projects POP, you’re gonna love this one!

Penned In Lemon Lime! New In=Color Lemon Lime Twist, and new stamp set Crafting Forever! Inker's Workshop 2017
What do you think?  Too bright, maybe a little out of your comfort zone?

If you’re thinking, whoa…neon green, you’re pretty close, but you can tone it down by using it with neutrals or by using it in small amounts as an accent. Go ahead, try it!

You have probably seen a few cards with my name on them floating around out there using this bold, new color (I’m loving it!), and I couldn’t resist sharing another one (hmm…should I stop now?) There’s still a few weeks before the new catty goes live, so here’s another sneak peek of Lemon Lime Twist, this time with the pens from the new Crafting Forever stamp set…gotta love it!
******************

Penned In Lemon Lime! Dahlia background on card. Inker's Workshop 2017

• I used the large Definitely Dahlia stamp in the same color for added texture in the background!
****************

Penned In Lemon Lime! Detail pens from the Crafting Forever stamp set. Inker's Workshop 2017
• New In Color Stampin’ Write Markers were used to color the pens.
• Accents of Basic Black were used on the pens, for the greeting (Balloon Celebration),
*and layered in between. Don’t these two colors make a fantastic color combination?!
• New 1/2″ Finely Woven Ribbon matches the card stock …to a tee!
• Of course, I added a single rhinestone for a bit of sparkle on the pen, I know…I can’t seem to   **make a card without one!

Will Lemon Lime Twist be your new favorite?

Have A Fabulous Day!
Karen

Penned In Lemon Lime!

Layers Of Blue!

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for May 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month we are featuring projects that are “stepped up” by using textures or fun techniques. We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects
****************************

Hello Inkers!
My texture project for today’s hop includes several lovely Layers Of Blue!

Layers Of Blue! Inker's Workshop - Pals Blog Hop May 2017

Today’s project is made entirely of Dapper Denim & Whisper White!

One of the reasons I chose Dapper Denim is so I could use this great scrunchy ribbon
one last time, sadly it retires at the end of May.
*******************************

Layers Of Blue! Inker's Workshop 2017 texture details

Did you count the layers?
***********

There are eight layers to this card, that may seem like a lot, but each one is in small doses,
so it doesn’t look too heavy when put together. If each layer were large in size, it would
tend to be overwhelming.
***************

Let’s start from the bottom, shall we…
• 1st layer, card base (of course), is Whisper White Thick card stock.
• 2nd layer, is the blue brick. using the Brick Wall embossing folder, edges torn.
• 3rd layer, a piece of 3″ x 4 1/2″ stamped with the largest splatter from the
Touches Of Texture stamp set, in Dapper Denim, of course.
• 4th layer, the long background stamp from the same set, with torn, inked edges.
I forgot to get a pic while adding layers (oops!) but, if you look closely under the doily, you
can see the edges peeking out.
• 5th layer, doily with edge cut off, sponged with ink.
• 6th layer, banner stamped with greeting from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set, edges inked.
• 7th layer, stamped flower from Touches Of Texture stamp set, cut out with Stitched Shapes
Framelits Dies, popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals (my fav!), and a small rhinestone for a touch of bling!
• 8th and final layer, Dapper Denim 3/8″ Ruched Ribbon, tied in a knot.
*************

Layers Of Blue! Inker's Workshop 2017. Blue brick background.

The brick looked a little …well, blah…so I added a few smears of  white Craft Stampin’ Ink
around the edges and grout lines, with a Sponge Dauber, and that pulled it in perfectly!.
**********

Layers Of Blue! Inker's Workshop 2017 matching envelope.

A little ink on the envelope flap is always a good thing!

Have A Fabulous Day!
